Acupuncture Point Injection

Point Injection is a therapy whereby specific body locations are injected with biologically active substances which are physiologically regulating. These substances are used to treat pain, swelling, inflammation and toxin accumulation, among other problems. Most injections cause only minor discomfort because they are very shallow, given just under the skin or into the muscle.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the time tested therapy that has been practiced in the Far East for thousands of years. The philosophy behind the treatment is that energy lines or meridians circulate around the body. These meridians contain our energy flow or “Qi”. It is when this qi is impaired through the body that imbalance and illness occurs. With the insertion of fine needles at various points on the meridian, the energy can be moved or redirected to where it is needed most. In this way the body’s balance can be restored and the illness resolved. In the Western view, acupuncture likely works by stimulating the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) to release chemicals called neurotransmitters and hormones. These chemicals dull pain, boost the immune system and regulate various body functions.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a therapeutic method of burning and warming by placing the moxa-wool or other medicated materials to points of the human body. With the help of the mild heat of the ignited moxa and the action of the medicine and through the meridian transmission, moxibustion has the therapeutic effect of warming and promoting the flow of qi and blood, as well as strengthening the body resistance to eliminate pathogenic factors.

Acupressure Massage – Tui Na

Tui Na uses rhythmic compression along energy channels of the body, as well as a variety of techniques that manipulate and lubricate the joints. Tui Na directly affects the flow of energy by holding and pressing the body at acupressure points.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is an ancient Chinese method of causing local congestion. A partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of heat or suction. This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal therapy is the core of East Asian medicine. Herbs are simply plants and vegetables. Herbs are classified according to their natural properties, flavors, directions of qi movement, meridian tropism and therapeutic actions. Traditionally, a group of herbs, not a single herb, are selected as a formula for a given condition based on the diagnosis. Mixed herbs have no more side effects than mixed corns, carrots and peas.

Facial Rejuvenation acupuncture

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture, is a painless, non-surgical procedure that is effective in reducing the signs of aging. Hair-thin acupuncture needles are inserted in specific locations on the face, ears, neck, hands and feet based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The disposable needles are placed in energy channels (or meridians) that either begin or end on the face, or that work to modify the energy flow of a person’s body. Therefore, a certified practitioner of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture knows how to influence the signs of aging on the face while simultaneously treating the underlying factors that contribute to the aging process.

The course of treatment is between 10-12 sessions, with 1-3 sessions per week for best results. Each individual will respond differently to the treatment depending on his or her condition and lifestyle. Visible results that are more long-lasting appear on or about the seventh session. Following the initial course of treatment, maintenance sessions can prolong the results for five to ten years. Each treatment session lasts 60 minutes.
